Val Thorens

Val Thorens | Small Groups

Intro

Val Thorens is the big daddy of high altitude French ski resorts, which means it is pretty much snow sure from very early season right through to May! As it this wasn’t enough of a boast – it is also forms part of the worlds biggest ski area. Expect to maximse your ski holiday time take to the 600km of piste that the Three Valleys has to offer.  Here you’ll find plenty of runs to cater for anyone from the complete beginner to the most advanced skier. In the eventuality that you do run out of piste there are the vast powder fields of Orelle, tree runs in Meribel and couloirs in Courcheval all waiting to be explored.

In our eyes no ski trip is complete without a bit of a party – it is a holiday after all.  There is no better place to do this than the infamous Folie Douce, on its sun soaked terrace you’ll be dancing on table in whats credited as being the world’s highest club! Still got some stamina?  Head to Malaysia – the BIGGEST club in the alps.

Ski Area

With 600km of pistes, 3 Pipes and Parks its no wonder Val Thorens is on everyone’s to ski lists. Being above the tree line does mean visibility can be an issue when the weather rolls in.  Our best advice for avoiding this and making the most of your ski holiday is to invest in the extended Three Valley Pass enabling you to venture over towards Meribel and Courchevel where trees will provide you will lot more shelter.  Top Tip: buying your Extended Valley Pass with us before you head out to Val Thorens – it will save you a lot of money!

Why Wasteland in Val Thorens?

There is nothing we at Wasteland loves better than endless skiing followed by endless partying – Val Thorens is the ultimate playground from both of these!  VT has and always will be a Wasteland favourite and as a result we know it pretty damn well which means we can source the very best deals on accommodation and offer you a seriously cheap ski holiday package.

Who’s is good for?

Val Thorens is archetypal Wasteland – its our go to resort for those looking to spend maximum time on the mountain and in the bars on their ski holiday.  In addition to this the sheer size of the place makes Val Thorens and the wider Three Valley area an incredible option for holidays of mixed abilities groups and friends.

Something a bit different!

As if VT doesn’t offer you enough to fill your time and test your stamina there’s also plenty of off the piste action to keep you entertained.  Including the VT toboggan run – the longest in the French Alpes at 6km, the Leisure centre, pool, spa, trampolines, table tennis ect all located in Centre Commerical in centre of resort.  Also, for the ultimate adrenaline rush and something we cannot wait to try on our trip this season – VAL Thorens have just announced they’re looking to put a zip wire linking the top of Orelle (above the chairlift Bouchet – 3,230m)  and Val Thorens  (above the Funitel de Thorens – 3,000m). The zip wire will be around 1,300m long dropping 230m above the resorts glacier.

How to get there?
