A beautifully charming Swiss village, Zermatt is a favourite amongst international jetsetters! As the highest altitude and largest snow sport location in the Alps, Zermatt offers an absolute snow guarantee. Located right near the Italian border it is surrounded by the most beautiful mountain in the world, the Matterhorn and its spectacular pyramid of 4000m high peaks making for breathtaking views!
With its quaint car-free village (except for electric cars), 365 days of snow and 350km of piste it is often described as a mountain lover’s heaven.
World renowned, with plenty of impressive blue and red runs, wide open runs for learning, world famous black runs and moguls and not to mention some of the best off-piste in the Alps, Zermatt lives up to its reputation as a fantastic playground for skiers and boarders of all levels.
Divided into 3 separate areas, with a ski pass that covers them all, you can ski at the Rothorn paradise (3103m), the Gornergrat (3089m), or up on the glacier area which is the Klein Matterhorn (3883m). You have unlimited skiing and snowboarding between Switzerland and Italy! No other resort offers this.
The Gravity Park is a world-class terrain full of super-pipes, rails and loads of other creative obstacles for those seeking more adrenaline soaked adventures.
Zermatt offers amazing Heli sking starting at an altitude of 4,200 m, traversing down for 2,600m! Also worth a mention is the famous Moonlight skiing, where you enjoy a drunken meal at 3,883m and then ski down the longest downhill run in the Matterhorn guided only by the light of the moon!
Zermatt's nightlife is legendary! When it comes to Apes-ski the fun starts even before the lifts close. In addition to stopping on the way down for a beer or Glühwein (and assuming you can still make it down…) Zermatt has plenty of lively bars and nightspots to ensure all levels of drinking are catered for! There is also a huge variety of restaurants ranging from Michelin starred to a McDonald's.
