Val Gardena

Resort Info

Val Gardena is a world famous resort which makes up the Alpe di Siusi ski area, totalling 175km of skiing terrain. On top of this though, with the right ski pass you can also ski the Dolomiti ski area which is another 1200km, making for a truly spectacular skiing experience. Selva Gardena is the most popular resort within the Val Gardena valley; it provides access to the Sella Masif which is one of the most popular ski excursions in the Dolomites, rising to a staggering 3151m it’s obvious to see why it is so popular to ski. The valley offers everything from challenging black runs to beginners blue runs as well as access to some insane powder snow and off-piste skiing.

Selva Gardena is one of the liveliest resorts in Europe with a wide variety in bars and restaurants to fall into after your long day on the slopes. The après-ski definitely starts on the piste with the mountain bars pumping out music onto the slopes and it is the norm for girls to be wearing very little despite the sub zero temperatures. The Italians know how to do leisurely skiing perfectly; stopping at all the bars on the way down the slopes is the natural thing to do.  Towards late afternoon the scene picks up with dancing on the tables and some hilarious skiing home after a fair few bevies.  Try Siglu Bar, open from 3.30pm til 1am and designed in the shape of an Igloo its not to be missed.  Bar La Stua has live music twice a week and La Bula has a DJ everyday straight after the lifts close so you will never be short of somewhere to head for straight from the slopes – the Italians and the German Cliental love to party in their ski boots straight from the pistes.
