The skiing area of Saalbach – Hinterglemm is connected to the resort of Leogang and provides 200km of diverse skiing area, Saalbach is actually a separate village to Hinterglemm but has expanded over the years so that now it almost meets in the middle. The ski area becomes a vast playground for intermediates, has challenging runs for experts and advanced skiers and provides for beginners as well. For beginners Zwolferkogelbahn gives access to an assortment of runs, with blues and red runs back to Hinterglemm. The runs are good for beginners who are looking to improve their skiing. Zwolferkogelbahn – Nordabfahrt is great for experts and has a 3km black run descent to Lengau, which will be sure to test your knees. This resort offers one of the best integrated ski areas in Europe and on top of the skiing terrain it also has an extra 100km of off-piste area.  There are also two snow parks, shaped daily by the professional specialist crew to provide boarders with the best facilities to improve their jumps and techniques. 

Saalbach is the liveliest of the three villages and après-ski is in classic Austrian style with beer, schnapps and dancing in ski boots. In Saalbach, Kuhstall bar is lively and has live music. Bauer’s Skialm at the bottom of the nursery slopes in Saalbach has eclectic music, a multi-national crowd and indoor and outdoor tables, its best to get there early as it does get busy. The Hinterhag Alm has live music, table dancing and gallons of Gluhwein with a pumping atmosphere. Similarly Castellos at the bottom of the main street is lively and switches to a nightclub later into the evening with an entrance fee.
