Resort Info
Situated deep in the Dranse River Valley Morzine has held onto its heritage and authentic charm. Although now situated in Portes du Soleil, one of the world’s largest ski areas it came from the humble beginnings of a working town. Subsequently the resort today offers more than your usual purpose built one.
A single ski pass allows access to an area that spans two countries and offers 650km of marked pistes. Beginners will find plenty of nursery slopes such as Le Pleney near the resort and other slopes for a steady progression. Fantastic for intermediates Ports du Soleil offers them an endless area for exploration. Some resorts can lack appeal for the advanced but not Morzine which has access to some of Frances most challenging runs such as the ‘Wall’ at Avoriaz, World cup Downhill runs and infinite off-piste opportunities.
With non-skiing activities as diverse as anywhere you can take your pick from Mono-skiing, ice skating, paragliding, bowling, sledging, walking, ice climbing and many more. A tough day in Morzine can be relied upon as easily as the evening’s entertainment. With as much variety as the slopes you can pick from the relaxed to damn right crazy when it comes to night life. If food is your thing then make sure you take advantage of the local cheese and wines.
