Nestled right at the base of Mont Blanc the traditional village of Les Contamines-Montjoie provides visitors with a rustic experience in a breath taking setting. Extending 5km across the valley a criss cross of hamlets are linked by footpaths and shuttle buses. Endowed with a high amount of sunshine and natural snow excellent conditions are common.
Making up part of the ‘Evasion Mont Blanc’ ski area, Les Contamines spoils the more advanced skier. Challenging marked pistes are accompanied with some excellent off-piste opportunities. Slopes stretch along the two major valleys of Val Montjoie and Beaufortain, those descending them are exposed to excellent panoramic views at the top and are encroached by ancient forest as they descend. The resort has shown a commitment to new disciplines in skiing and snowboarding with the introduction of the new X-Zone which accommodates freestylers and areal acrobats of all levels. Beginners and intermediates will find an adequate array of runs to progress on in the areas of Tierces where weather permitting you can be treated to a vivid display of Mont Blanc
A weekly market descends upon the village and sets the tune for what visitors can expect, a friendly but vibrant atmosphere which extends into the local bars and restaurants. The Resort accommodates those that wish to sample a more rustic alpine experience.

From the Autoroute Blanche take the exit (21) signed for Le Fayet, Les Contamines-Montjoie and St. Gervais. At St. Gervais follow the sign for Les Contamines (D902) which is a further 7km. After passing through the hamlet of Tresse and going a further 2km you will arrive at Les Contamines-Montjoie.
