Lying beneath Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is a resort situated within the Tauern National Park. Kaprun makes for a spectacular setting and has become one of Austria’s most popular resorts for a good reason, appealing to both skiers and boarders of all levels. Only a short distance from Zell the town has retained its charm.

The chance to glacier ski at the height of 2900 meters attracts holidaymakers from all over the world. Here the best skiing conditions can be combined with an unclouded experience. Known for being a family mountain with its gentle slopes the area lends itself to those starting out. 

This is a year round destination with some high altitude pistes guaranteed snow. Those that make the trip benefit from access to all the runs in Zell through just one ski pass. Despite the small inconvenience of a short bus ride to zell the combined areas offer 130km of pistes.

Kaprun offers evening entertainment from energetic bars and clubs to the more pleasant.  Visitors can work up an appetite at the Optimum sports centre or choose from an abundance of restaurants accommodating all tastebuds and budgets.

Salzburg airport offers the easiest transfer to kaprun. From the airport, head south on autobahns A-1 and A-10, then turn right on to the B-311 for Zell am See. Kaprun is a farther 15 minutes along the same road.
