Resort Info
Only 4km from Megeve nestled between glaciers lays a town of traditional chalets in the shadow of Europe’s highest mountain. Combloux offers a visual impact hard to match. Known as the ‘pearl of Mount Blanc’ the town remains one of the few unspoilt by modern developments, visitors not only enjoy a stunning 360-degree view but one of the ‘real’ rural alps.
Aimed towards families the resort offers many facilities for children and holds the ‘familie plus montagne’. However the extensive wider Mt Blanc region offers two separate ski areas to be exploited. The ski area of “Portes du Mont-Blanc” and “Evasion Mont Blanc” is for the adventurous with around 600km of slopes providing a massive array of slopes. Between them you will find an abundance of untouched powder runs considered to be quite avalanche safe. A newly improved snow park in Giettaz featuring kickers and half pipes is also avaliable. The resort experiences a lot of sunlight which can combine with its low altitude to produce patchy snow covers.
The tired and weary can go back in time on a horse drawn carriage stopping to test the local treats on surrounding farms or enjoy the spectacular views from a dog sled ride. With many bars and restaurants to enjoy you’re the majority will be satisfied. However those looking for a more lively nightlife should consider elsewhere.
