Châtel is a beautiful French mountain village, brimming with traditional character and charm. The resort has managed to retain a very French feel and has been developed to ensure that the addition of modern amenities has been done with minimal impact on the traditional style of the village.

Châtel offers excellent slopes for beginners and intermediates, while the larger ski area of Les Portes du Soleil offers over 650km of mixed terrain for more experienced skiers and snowboarders to explore. There is also a Snowpark, half pipe and boarder cross in the Châtel area, making it a great destination for freestyle lovers.

Châtel a very family orientated resort, and has been awarded the French Family Plus certificate. In line with this there are lots of activities for you to get involved in off the slopes, including icefall climbing, ice skating and taking a dip in the outdoor pool.

When the evening closes in there are over 40 restaurants and numerous bars to choose from, including some that are open until 4am. But with such a  huge ski area on your doorstep, you may just want to head straight home, and prepare yourself for the next days adventure on the slopes!

Directions:

Arrive on the A40 motorway towards Geneva, taking the Annemasse exit. Follow the road to Thonon and then on to Chatel.
